Gifted Homeschoolers Forum

GHF LogoOnce you have made the decision to homeschool your child, you might find yourself a little isolated and in need of support, reassurance and ideas. While there are a couple of homeschooling networks in Ireland, Gifted Homeschoolers Forum is specifically for parents homeschooling gifted children. Although it is US-based, you will find it very worthwhile to have a browse through their website.

Apart from general information on giftedness and twice exceptionality, they have online courses available to families globally and an online community. They also have a publishing arm where you will find some excellent books on various aspects of homeschooling.

Another great resource is their blogging section where you can find articles written by GHF staff but also a list of blogs written by other homeschooling parents from around the world. They also have a kids’ blog section. Who knows, you might be inspired 😉

They also have a Facebook page and a Twitter profile.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact them. We have always found them to be incredibly welcoming and supportive! As they pointed out to us:

“You don’t have to first decide to homeschool – we have many members who are not currently homeschooling, and many who are teachers! In fact, one of our books is about  Making the Choice: When Typical School Doesn’t Fit Your Atypical Child
