Getting a regular support group off the ground in North Dublin has proved a little difficult as people are widely scattered and very busy. However, whilst we haven’t done much sitting around drinking coffee, we keep in touch via email and have managed to organise several group outings with our children over the past year and hope to have many more.

Battle of Clontarf

Dublin North Gifted Ireland group would love you to join us for a guided walk along the seafront in Clontarf in celebration of the 1,000th anniversary of Brian Boru’s famous 1014 defeat of the Vikings. Rumour has it that they are back in numbers so plan to use public transport to avoid traffic jams. See clontarf.ie for more details or Google “The Battle of Clontarf”.

Meet up (with our guide Collette) at The Wind Sculpture  at the junction of Alfie Byrne Road and The Clontarf Coast Road at 2:30pm on Easter Monday.

Give me a call on 086-8401456 if you have any problems finding us.

Mick.

February/March 2014: As you may be aware CTYI classes are re-starting at DCU on Saturday 1st February. Many of us have embodied some notion of getting more value and quality of life for our time in our new year resolutions, so perhaps as we end the first month of the new year it would be a good time to check in with ourselves in this regard.  There is an opportunity for parents to gift themselves a break, and chill out in the company of other parents who get what they are doing driving their children to these classes on Saturdays.

Gifted Ireland speech bubble logoAnyone within striking distance of The Helix in DCU between 10am and 12:30pm or 1:30 pm and 4:00pm on Saturdays during the CTYI term, drop in to the coffee shop and look downstairs and upstairs for this logo beside someone’s coffee cup or perhaps lost in the mist of a hive of parents sharing stories.
